Desert Gold’s flagship 440km2 SMSZ Project is located in the country of Mali and overlies a 38 km section of West Africa’s prolific Senegal Mali Shear Zone which is related to 4 tier one gold mines including B2 Gold’s Fekola Mine, Barrick’s Gounkoto and Loulo Mines and Allied Gold’s Sadiola and Yatela Mines.
At 440km2 the Company’s SMSZ Project is one of the largest gold exploration projects in Western Africa. With 20+ open gold zones discovered to date that require follow up and numerous targets yet to be tested, the SMSZ Project has the potential for the discovery of a major gold deposit(s) consistent with the region’s tier 1 gold mines.
Measured and Indicated Mineral Resources:
8.47 million tonnes grading 1.14 g/t gold totaling 310,300 ounces
Inferred Mineral Resources
20.7 million tonnes grading 1.16 g/t gold totaling 769,200 ounces.
Desert Gold’s SMSZ Project lies within one of the most prolific gold belts in West Africa — home to over 26 million ounces of gold reserves and multiple Tier 1 mines. This underexplored region includes nearby operations by Barrick, B2Gold, Allied Gold, Endeavour, and Hummingbird.
Covering 440 km² across 10 concessions, the SMSZ Project has identified over 24 gold zones, including five with pit-constrained mineral resources. With strong structural controls, active artisanal mining, and potential for new discoveries, the project offers a rare district-scale growth opportunity.
The SMSZ Project hosts the following gold resource:
🔹 310,300 oz M&I @ 1.14 g/t Au
🔹 769,200 oz Inferred @ 1.16 g/t Au
Surrounded by producing mines, existing roads, power, and a skilled local workforce, Desert Gold benefits from infrastructure already in place.
Desert Gold’s Senegal Mali Shear Zone (SMSZ) Project spans approximately 440 km² across western Mali, strategically positioned along the prolific Senegal Mali Shear Zone which hosts several multi-million ounce gold mines including Fekola, Gounkoto, and Loulo.
The property has demonstrated significant exploration potential with multiple high-grade gold zones identified through drilling programs, including notable intercepts at the Gourbassi East and West zones as well as the Barani East discovery.
Extensive systematic exploration work including geochemical sampling, geophysical surveys, and over 95,000 meters of drilling has outlined numerous prospective gold targets across the large land package, with many remaining untested.
The project benefits from excellent infrastructure including paved highway access, proximity to power and water sources, and is situated in a mining-friendly jurisdiction with an established framework for mineral development.
